GSSSB Fireman cum Driver Recruitment 2025: The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has announced a major recruitment drive for the post of Fireman cum Driver, Class-III under the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department. This recruitment will be carried out through a competitive written examination, and applications are invited from eligible candidates through the OJAS portal.

Vacancy Details
- Post Name: Fireman cum Driver (Class-III)
- Total Vacancies: 13 Posts
- Reservation: Posts are reserved as per Government of Gujarat rules for SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, Women, and Ex-servicemen.

Eligibility Criteria
📌 Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 33 years (as on the last date of application – 15/09/2025).
- Age Relaxations:
- Women (General Category): +5 years
- Reserved Category (Male): +5 years
- Reserved Category (Female): +10 years
- Ex-servicemen: Service years + 3 years relaxation
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed HSC (12th standard) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board.
- Must possess a Fireman Training Certificate (6 months) or equivalent certificate such as Fireman/Driver-cum-Pump Operator course from a recognized Government institute.
- Must hold a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving License.
- Should have basic knowledge of computer operations (as prescribed by Govt. rules).
- Must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and/or Hindi languages.
Physical Standards
For Male Candidates:
- Height: 165 cm (160 cm for ST candidates)
- Chest: 81 cm (unexpanded), 86 cm (expanded)
- Minimum Chest Expansion: 5 cm
- Weight: 50 kg minimum
For Female Candidates:
- Height: 158 cm (156 cm for ST candidates)
- Weight: 40 kg minimum
Candidates with physical defects like knock-knee, pigeon chest, squint eyes, flat feet, varicose veins, hammer toes, fractures, decayed teeth, or communicable diseases will be declared unfit.
Salary and Pay Scale
- Fixed Pay: ₹26,000/- per month for the initial 5 years.
- After successful completion of probation and satisfactory performance, candidates will be placed in the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix (Level-2: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200).
Selection Process
The selection will be based on a Competitive Written Examination followed by document verification and physical standards check.

The exam will be MCQ (Objective Type) conducted through OMR/CBRT method.
Part-A (60 Marks):
- Numerical & Data Interpretation – 30 Marks
- Logical Ability Test – 30 Marks
Part-B (150 Marks):
- Constitution of India & Current Affairs – 30 Marks
- Gujarati & English Comprehension – 30 Marks
- Fireman/Driver Subject Related Questions – 120 Marks
- Total Marks: 210
- Duration: 3 Hours (180 minutes)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Candidates must score minimum 40% separately in Part-A and Part-B to qualify.

- General (Unreserved Category): ₹500/-
- Reserved Categories (Women, SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, Ex-servicemen): ₹400/-
- Fee to be paid online only via Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI/Wallet.
- Fee Refund: Candidates who appear for the exam will get a refund of the examination fee through the same payment mode.
